Diana Carrillo Diana earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Scripps College and began a career with the Housing Authority supervising after-school programs for low-income families who lived in public housing developments in Pacoima, Watts, and East L.A. Her work included coordinating City-wide chess tournaments for kids and leadership training. During those 6 years while working full-time at the Housing Authority, Diana practiced pilates with her mentor, Manette LaChance. Thru this personal practice she noticed the transformational power of pilates to build mind-body connection, strength, and confidence. Feeling inspired, Diana studied pilates more deeply and began her comprehensive Pilates certification training at Core Conditioning Physical Therapy in 2006. Diana served as a Physical Therapy Aide assisting patients in the dance clinic rehabilitate from injuries and assisting dancers and other patients in re-programming their movement patterns in order to be less likely to re-injure themselves. Under her mentor’s guidance, in 2009-10, Diana traveled the U.S. as a Wellness Speaker for the RISE program for patient living with R.A. She joined the pilates team at LABA in 2007 and is now also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique. She soon became the biggest fan of YBT, TDC, and Team Theatrics. Diana continues to work with her private pilates clients in her home studio in Sherman Oaks.
