Required Dress Code for Los Angeles Ballet Academy Classes

Junior Division

Intro to Dance and Pre Ballet/Tap
Any color leotard and skirt, pink ballet shoes, and black patent leather tap shoes.

Pre-Primary and Primary
Mirella M515C Leotard Cap Sleeve Pink, pink watercolour skirt, pink cotton scrunchie, pink ballet socks and pink ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio full sole).

Student Division

Grade 1 and 2
Mirella M515C Cap Sleeve Leotard in Buttercup, buttercup ballet belt, buttercup cotton scrunchie, pink ballet socks, pink ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 3
Mirella M515C Cap Sleeve Leotard in Lilac, lilac ballet belt, lilac cotton scrunchie, pink ballet socks, pink ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 4
Mirella M515C Cap Sleeve Leotard in Lilac, lilac ballet belt, lilac cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 5
Mirella 207LM Leotard in Marine, marine ballet belt, marine cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 6
Mirella 207L Leotard in Garnet, Watercolour long skirt, garnet ballet belt, garnet cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 7
Mirella 207LM Leotard in Turquoise, Watercolour long skirt, black ballet belt, turquoise scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 8
Mirella 207LM Leotard in White, Watercolour long skirt, white ballet belt, white cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

*Character shoes should be canvas Freed, SoDanca or Sansha with 1" heel.

Intensive Division

Intermediate Foundation (IF)
Any style Black spaghetti strap leotard (prefer Mirella 207L) (no cris cross backs, no rhinestones, no decorations), black ballet belt, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio leather full sole) and pointe shoes w/ribbons.

Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2
Any style Black spaghetti strap leotard (prefer Mirella 207L) (no cris cross backs, no rhinestones, no decorations), black ballet belt, pink tights, demi-pointe shoes w/ribbons and pointe shoes w/ribbons.

DEMI-POINTE SHOES MUST BE WORN FOR ALL INTERMEDIATE & UP TECHNIQUE CLASSES.

Open Classical
Any solid color leotard of your choice (no cris cross backs, no rhinestones, no decorations, no skirts), pink tights, pink ballet shoes and pointe shoe

Boys Dress
Black shorts or tights, white form-fitting t-shirt or leotard tucked in, white socks and white ballet shoes and a black belt. Black or tan dance belt for boys 11 yrs and older.

Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop
Jazz pants, capri pants, bike shorts, form-fitting t-shirts or leotard of your choice and tan slip-on jazz shoe (Bloch S0401). Street clothing i.e. jeans, tennis shoes or overly revealing clothing is not permitted. Jazz sneakers are required for Hip Hop. Tap shoes should have screwed in taps for Tap 2 and above.
ONLY TAN JAZZ SHOES WILL PERMITTED IN CLASS. NO BLACK!

Please note that hair MUST be in a bun for all ballet classes.
Hair must be neat and off the face at ALL TIMES.
No jewelry other than stud earrings permitted in any class.
Cris cross backs and rhinestones are not permitted in any ballet class.
Please be sure that your child has the proper attireby the first class of the session.
